Regular attendance at school is essential if the student is to do well. He should be at school every day unless
he has a good reason for being absent.If a student is absent it is a legal requirement that on his return he
brings a Note of Explanation in his Student Journal, signed by his Parent/Guardian. On the morning of his return
to school after an absence, the student must present the signed explanation in his Student Journal.
Parents/Guardians and Students are reminded of the importance of punctuality, especially in the mornings and afternoons.
Coming late to class disturbs the work of the teacher and other students and hinders academic progress.
Our Attendance Record system notes the names of all latecomers. Where students are persistently arriving late,
Parents/Guardians will be contacted and sanctions will be imposed.
Parents are reminded that the school is obliged to report any student missing more than 20 days
to the Education Welfare Board, and that it is our policy to do so.
