The School will make every reasonable effort to facilitate a student seeking to transfer into our school. The Board will decide on application for admission to years/classes other that First Year by applying the following: · The transfer is subject to the School’s Admission Policy · The transfer is in the best interest, educational and otherwise, of the transferee · The transfer is in the best interest of the school and the students already in the school · The transfer does not compromise the Heath and Safety of staff and student · Available space existing in the relevant class/subject · A suitable reference from the previous school detailing attendance, behaviour and performance The decision regarding the transfer of a student from another school will be made by the Board of Management and the Principal in consultation with the student’s former school. This may delay commencement to the beginning of the next school term or school year.
Right of Refusal The Board of Management reserves the right to refuse an application for admission. Should such a refusal be made the Board wishes to advise parents/guardians that an appeal may be made under Section 29 of the Education Act 1998. |

The Board of Management extends a warm welcome to students with special needs. The School will liaise with the relevant primary schools to access records of students with special needs and will contact the Department of Education and Science to seek the required resource hours. The Principal/Resource teacher will, if necessary, meet with the parents or guardians to discuss the ability of the School to cater for the student. All relevant information must be made available to the School to enable it to process the case. The ability of the school to accept students with special needs or disabilities may be dependent on resources, suitable to the needs of the individual student being obtained from the Department of Education and Science. The school reserves the right to refuse enrolment to any student in exceptional cases. Such an exceptional case could include the following:
1.The student has special needs such that, even with additional resources available from the Department of Education and Science, the School cannot meet such needs and /or provide the student with an appropriate education or 2. In the opinion of the Board of Management, the student poses an unacceptable risk to other students, to school staff or to school property.

JUNIOR CYCLE All applicants must : a) Have completed 6th standard in the National School. b) Be 12 years of age on or before December 31st of the year of attendance.
SENIOR CYCLE By application to the college principal accompanied by two most recent school reports together with other relevant information as may be required.

The Board of Management has decided that for reasons of health and safety students are not permitted to park their cars on the school premises. Parents dropping off students to school should not enter the school grounds as this is causing severe traffic congestion.
