A night of music... a huge success!
Well done to our Music Department and Music Generation for a wonderful showcase of the musical and dancing talent amongst our student cohort. We had a sell out attendance who enjoyed prosecco and canapes on arrival.
The Musical night was opened by award winning trad group Seol who recently won the prestigious Fiddler of London competition. Fifth year student Cathal Slattery and past-pupil John Kennedy are two of its members.
We then enjoyed music from our talented guitarists and singers from Music Generation under the excellent stewardship of Kevin Sutton.
Past-pupil and singer songwriter Conor Fahy, with stagename Dáwna, entertained all in attendance with a lovely collection of some of his own songs and covers of well-known classics just before the interval.
After the break former Lord of the Dance Star and staff member Mr. Michael O'Meara danced with three students Craig Maher, Darragh O'Leary and Luke Meelam to jigs played by the school's trad group which included staff member Ms. Nicole Roche.
Finally, the school band accompanied by the First Year choir brought an end to the show to rapturous applause.
School Principal Ms. Karen O'Donnell complemented all the students from First to Sixth year on doing themselves, their families and the school proud with such an array of musical and dancing talent.
Thanks to Ms. Laura Kearney and Kevin Sutton for organising such a fantastic event. The work in preparing such polished performances was evident for all in attendance.
