50 athletes from CBS Nenagh attended the County Schools Track and Field championships held in Templemore yesterday. Despite the few odd showers everyone had a wonderful day. Oisín Kelly-O'Driscoll kicked off the medal haul, he won the Junior Long jump. Cian Hodgins decided to attempt the high jump and, indeed, jumped well to win the event. His team-mate Sean Moylan came third in the same event.

Kevin Finn kept up his red-hot form by winning the Minor 800m convincingly. Séan Hayes came second in the senior 400m with Séan Moylan medalling again with bronze in the same race. Diarmuid Moloney was in an extremely competitive 1500m Intermediate race. He won an excellent silver with Ben Walshe narrowly missing out on bronze.

Athlete of the day would have to go to Christopher Diasonama, who surprised and entertained everyone storming to victory in the minor 100m. An hour later he ran a superb final leg of the 4x 100m minor relay to come from behind and win gold for the team. A fantastic race by the whole team who consisted of Ryan Amodeo, James Dillon and Michal Ostapkiewicz.

Our junior relay team also medalled, winning bronze. The team consisted of Daniel Connolly, Daniel Quinn, Eoghan Doughan and Joe O'Dwyer. Finally in the last race of the day the senior relay team won bronze. The team consisted of Cian Hodgins, Seán Moylan, Sean Egan, Sean Hayes.
