Second Year Geography Prizewinners of Farm/Factory Project

All Second Year students at St. Joseph’s CBS Secondary School Nenagh undertake a Farm or Factory Project, whereby the students, with guidance from their teacher, research and compile a detailed project about a Farm or Factory of their own choosing. The standard was incredibly high this year with some very interesting projects on various types of farms eg. pastoral farms, dairy farms and mixed farms in the North Tipperary area, Offaly and Galway and factories both from within Ireland and overseas. Every student put a lot of effort into his project and improved his IT skills by typing the project and including photographs and maps of the Farm or Factory which he had undertaken the study on. Each student who completed a Farm/Factory Project receives a Certificate to acknowledge the time and effort he put into this worthwhile project. It is great practice for those students who will be keeping on Geography as a Leaving Certificate subject as LC Geography consists of a Fieldwork component worth 20% of the overall marks. Furthermore, there were prizes for the top five students from each of the four second year classes.
