Shaun Hilmi RIP

Shaun Hilmi RIP

It was with the utmost sadness that the school community heard the news that Shaun Hilmi, 5th year, had lost his battle with illness. He was a gentle, kind and good humoured student who showed great prowess in the field of sport and generosity of spirit in sharing his musical talents with the school community. Our sincere condolences go to his family for their terrible loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with his parents, Lee and Geraldine, sister, Laura and brother Craig, also his grieving grandparents, friends and relatives. He was a keen athlete, participating in track events at county and provincial level. His skill on the tennis court has been mentioned by many who played with him. He was also a talented soccer player who showed determination and a quiet courage on the pitch. His youthful voice added to the poignancy and prayerfulness of our school masses on many occasions. We will remember him for his warm smile, his gentle nature and the sincerity of his character. Many who knew him at St. Joseph's have used the term 'gentleman' to describe him, which is particularly apt in Shaun's case. His illness came as a shock to the school community and we hoped and prayed for a good outcome for him and his family. It is with heavy hearts that we offer our sympathy on the loss of one so young. May his gentle soul rest in peace.
