Snooker Initiative in the CBS
Students from all years had a blast sampling snooker, all thanks to the efforts of PE teacher Mr. John McCormack, who set up this fantastic initiative. Alongside Tony Seymour (Club Coach & Chairman of New Institute Snooker Club in Nenagh), Martin Kelly (Club Member), PJ Nolan (National Irish Coach), Shane Gorman (Coach), and with the equipment provided by Snooker Billiards Ireland, students enjoyed a day filled with snooker fun. The clubs consistent approach to building awareness around snooker is paying off very well with a growing membership and youth academy numbers in the club. We had 16 young players from the school at the club last Friday alone
Thanks to Mr. John McCormack and Ms. Claire Freeman and Mr. William Greene for liasing with the club to bring this opportunity to fruition. We would also like to thank PJ Nolan for a great coaching session along with club members Paudie Kelly, Martin Kelly and Shane Gorman for giving their time on the day.
