Well done to Fionn O'Meara and Darragh McCarthy who have both received sports scholarships to study at the University of Limerick.
Fionn was awarded the sports scholarship based on his great performances on the rugby pitch for both Munster Rugby U18 Clubs and the Irish U18 rugby team. Fionn has played rugby at various grounds around the country and overseas. Fionn has also four international caps for basketball. A multi-talented sportsman.
Darragh was awarded the scholarship based on his skill and guile on the hurling pitch, captaining St. Joseph's CBS Nenagh to their first U19A Dr. Harty Cup hurling title, his performances with
Toomevara - GAA and his Man of the Match performance to help Tipperary secure an U20 Munster hurling title over Cork in May.
Fionn is going on to study the Design and Communication Graphis (DCG) and Engineering teaching course in UL. Darragh is taking the Sport and Exercise Sciences course in UL.
Best of luck with your studies and sporting careers from us all here at St. Joseph’s CBS Nenagh.
