#ThinkLanguages 2023
ThinkLanguages has become a week-long event this year and is taking place from Monday 27th November to Friday 1st December. The main purpose of the event is to highlight the importance of language learning in secondary schools, while also focusing on future studies at Third Level. Our TY students are taking part in a language day which includes linking in with the official opening ceremony on-line, workshops and a table quiz. The day started off with a French and German breakfast.
In the afternoon the students will listen to guest speakers from various businesses and Universities who will talk about their experience of languages in business.
The speakers include:
Philip O’ Gorman – currently working for a Finance Company and previously worked as a Translator.
Patricia Quigley - course leader in International Business degree in TUS.
Rachel Mc Loughlin – from the University of Limerick.
Olga Guza – H.R in Carey Glass Nenagh.
Emmet Kennedy - Past Pupil of the school and currently in 1st Year University of Galway studying Human Rights with French and German.
A huge thank you to our guests for coming to our school and joining us for #ThinkLanguages2023.
Thank you to Ms. Healy and all the MFL teachers who worked with the students throughout the day to ensure the smooth running of events.
