UL40 Scholarships for Dylan Murphy, Nigel Rafferty and Paul Ryan

UL40 Scholarships for Dylan Murphy, Nigel Rafferty and Paul Ryan
Congratulations to three past pupils Dylan Murphy, Nigel Rafferty and Paul Ryan who were each awarded a UL40 Scholarship Award by the Office of the Provost & Deputy President, University of Limerick.
The UL40 Scholarships are awarded to incoming students who began their undergraduate studies in the Autumn Semester for the Academic 2020 and is based on their performance in the Leaving Certificate and determined by their CAO points. The scholarships are valued at €2,000 each and they are funded by the University of Limerick, in recognition of its 40 years in existence as an educational institution.
Dylan Murphy and Paul Ryan are both studying Law Plus and Nigel Rafferty is studying for a Bachelor of Arts in German and Maths (Joint Honours) degree.
All three boys were very involved in all facets of school activities over their six years with us here at St. Joseph’s CBS Nenagh. Some of the activities that the three boys were involved in were representing the school with success in Maths, Science and Applied Maths competitions to representing the school in rugby, badminton, debating, volunteering to be a Buddy representative to our incoming First Years and serving on the Students’ Council.
Historically, they would have invited the school Principal and the Career Guidance Teacher to attend a ceremony on campus. Students who have been awarded scholarships would be invited to attend, with their parents, and presented with their scholarship certificate by UL President. Photographs would have been taken at the ceremony - with President, scholarship recipient, and their school representatives to mark the students’ academic achievement.
Unfortunately, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, it has not been possible for UL to host a ceremony this year.
The staff and management of St. Joseph’s CBS Nenagh are very proud of the achievements of these three young gentlemen and would like to wish them the best of luck with their studies.
